Where have you gone?
Your last breath was heard echoing through the trees, across the city, into every home, into everything that lives,
You vanished right before our eyes, as quickly as the fluttering of hummingbird wings against the beautiful blue sky,
Where have you gone?
We can still hear you, whispering through the curling pieces of clay laid across the ground,
Dried and broken cracks, veins aching for waters to return,
Stories remain, silently clinging to the empty riverbed, songs engraved in every grain of sand, resting beneath the weight of the scorching sun,
Waiting …
Miles and miles of memories etched into the scars that remain,
Wading for a current that never comes.

This project was imagined, designed, and lovingly curated by Sarah Hogland-Gurulé, who brought together a community of artists to help breathe life into her vision.
In a time of unimaginable drought along this side of the Rio Grande, we gathered to created a collective prayer for rain. A reminder of our connection to this land, to one another, and to the waters that sustain all life.
May our voice, our hands, and our art rise together as an offering. May the clouds remember us. May the rain find its way home.

Exhibit is displayed at City Hall among other beautiful Artists.
Exhibit will run until the end of August, Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm.
This display will showcase a selection of printed images from this collection, a beautiful Ofrenda designed and put together by Sarah.
